Remove Username From The Windows XP Start Menu

If you hate to see your Username in the Windows XP Startmenu like I do and want to remove it, then I say lets get our hands dirty by hacking your registry.

Note : The Username appears only in the XP Style Startmenu and not in the Classic startmenu. ( Usually the classic startmenu have only Windows XP in the side of the menu. )

Now Hack the Registry to Remove the Username from Windows XP Startmenu :

1. As usual open the Registry editor by Start > Run > Type ” regedit ” (without quotes) and Hit Enter key.
2. Now navigate to this key on the left pane ” HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer “
3. In the right pane, Create a new DWORD value with the following values :

Name : NoUserNameInStartMenu
Value : 1

Now reboot your computer to see your Username has indeed been removed from the Start menu.

Disclaimer: Any registry hacks are presented "as is". Use hacks at your own risk. We assume no responsibility.
